ABOUT THE PASTOR

KAREN JONES JOURNEY

Pastor Karen M. Jones Edney was born and raised in Philadelphia. Baptized as a child at the age of 9 years old and raised in the Church, she always knew that she had a calling on her life to serve the Lord.
Karen has a Bachlors of  Science degree in Health Information and is currantly attending Calvary Seminary working towards a degree in Biblical Theology.


Ministry History:


In 1991 she had a visitation form the Lord to leave the Islamic faith and rededicate her commitment to Christ. That same week she joined Fellowship Tabernacle Church under the late Bishop Robert Taylor and served as an Usher. In 2003 she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. With her late husband by her side, they found strength in God. In 2004 FTC relocated to North Carolina, and Karen continued with the ministry under the new Leadership Bishop Kevin L. Morrison and Evangelist Aziza S. Morrison of Lighthouse Deliverance Temple Ministry and City of Judah. She served as Usher VP Treasure. During this time, she met her mentor Pastor Debra Riley who encouraged her to join the ETA classes. Karen completed her ETA studies at Lighthouse Deliverance Temple Ministry. Karen was now at a time of Evangelism. She then moved onto serving the Harvest Evangelist Ministry and Bible College at Living Faith Christian Center under Pastor Constance Mcclean. As she continued to grow she then served as Alter Evangelist at Bethel Bible Deliverance Church and Bible Institute, there she studied under the Dean Brother C. McCoy. She was later assigned to serve under Ministerial training at Open Door Baptist Church under the late Pastor Jeremiah Norris and First Lady Norris, where she served as a Minister of the Gospel alongside Reverend Debra Riley. She was responsible for the Church Website, Street Evangelism and Substitute Sunday School  along with facilitating the Preached Word. As she continued to serve the Lord, she watched her mother and aunt live through the same Cancer disease. They are all survivors of Cancer, except for the death of her sister which transitioned her to birth” Abigail Women of Grace Outreach Ministry.” Karen’s calling was given to her by the Holy Spirit to guide other women, and families through Cancer.


Accomplishment:


Karen is a member of Pennsylvania Federation of Bible Classes which is a part of over four hundred Bishops and Pastors which make up the membership body of The Philadelphia Council of Clergy Inc., late Bishop Anthony Floyd, along with the General Overseer. On June 9, 2013, she received her Certificate of Ordination and License as Revered to preach the gospel sealed and signed by the Majestic Temple Baptist Church. On May 15, 2016, Karen was given an acknowledgment as Pastor for GRWC, by the authority and order of Divine Connections Churches and Ministries of Church, Apostle Gina Sutton-Hyde, Presiding Prelate, and Bishop Dionne Butts, 1st Assistant, then later installed and Ordained as Operation Pastor for Greater Restoration Worship Cathedral (GRWC) by her covering and leader Bishop Dionne Butts
Karen was honored with the " 2019 Serving Women of God Award Proverbs 31 Women " at the SURVIVED Brunch 2019. In April of 2020 she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer again. As of July 2020, Abigail Women of Grace Outreach Ministry is now a Para Ministry united with GRWC Church and Alliance (GRAC) and in 2025 received Acknowedgment of Overseer of Evangelism for GRAC with full covering from Dr. Dionne Butts.


Value and Goals:


Karen has spoken at different events in support of Women with Breast Cancer. Karen continued goal is to the Great Commission and growing Abigail Woman of Grace Outreach Ministry to be a safe foundational support system for all woman and children who have or had Cancer. The ministry provides face to face restoration, assistance, family assistance, personal care bag, and outreach for Cancer patients to prepare them for the starting process and help tgem complete tge process.  Her community outreach accomplishments are AWGOM BIRTH 2016, AWGOM Pink Eagle Women Soar Gathering and Honoree 2016 and 2018 a yearly gathering. AWGOM-Care for Outreach Day 2018 and 2019 and “AWGOM-If the Shoe Fits, Wear It 2019.” Pink Eagle Women Sour “Commissioned to Share Your Message” 2025 The Survivor Round Table.


Belief:


Karen believes deeply that in the body of Christ our service as children of the God, is to be a support system and a (help meet) to guide and direct Gods desired path for everyone, setting God as their head and prayer as a life principle, purposeful and driven.
